Grand Canyon Day 3

We didn't go far yesterday,  just 29 miles down the road to Desert View campground.  We are still in the National Park.  At an overlook we watched rafters down on the Colorado river.  They were goin thru one of the worst rapids, Hansen rapids. It had to be over a 1.5 miles away.  Took pics with telephoto lens,  didn't turn out too bad.  Went thru an old indian tower on the edge of the canyon, and then picked out a campsite, put out our chairs and read till dark.  Beautiful campgrounds, walking distance to the canyon rim.

Grand Canyon Day 2

We are setting at the campground,  and the birds are flying all around us.  We have western bluebirds, chickadee, tufted titmouse, and many ravens cleaning up the campsites after people leave.  Yesterday we walked the canyon rim from noon to 6PM and covered about 7 miles.  The views are terrific.  Took sunset pics at Hermits rest, then took the shuttle back to campground.   We are leaving today, not sure where to.

Grand Canyon Day 1

Arrived at Grand Canyon yesterday about noon.  Walked the rim trail for 2 miles to Grand Canyon village. Took lots of pictures and ate dinner at the Bright Angel lodge.  Took the free shuttle bus back to campground.  The days are warm, almost 70, and the nights cold. We have slow internet and no electric, so this post will be short.  Here is one picture.  We will be here at least one more day.
