Drove about 80 miles yesterday to revist Myakka River state park. We will be here a total of 3 nights. This morning had to get up early and ride my bike about 8 miles round trip to be first in line to get a campsite for next 2 nights. Returned to campsite ate breakfast and decided to take a kayak trip down the river and back. Had to go by myself as my better half said it was too hot . On the return trip you have to paddle against the current. I paddled about 4 miles round trip and was pretty tired. I saw alligators and many birds. There was a lot of Great Blue Herons, which we have at home, and many others that I could not identify. Had to portage around a dam. To top it off, I had alligator stew for supper. They had it at the concession stand.
