We went on the Boeing tour today. It was very exciting. We toured the huge hangers where they assemble the 747,767,777, and the new 787 planes. This building is so huge it could have 17 football fields inside. It is 90 acres all one floor, 4 stories tall. The first 787 won't fly until Nov. Future of Flight aviation center is an area with simulators, parts of aircrafts, engines, etc. In the first picture below, Barb and I are Flying a 787. In the second picture, the plane you see over the Boeing factory has never landed before. It is being flown by the Boeing test pilots for the first time. They had told us in the gift shop that is was about to take off. We were not allowed cameras on the tour so I was heading for the truck to get the cameras. I saw it start to take off, then abort the landing. They have to test brakes and reversing engines. I got the cameras and went into the building heading with Barb for the top floor observation area. We heard it take off before we made it. We did wait around for it to land. The other 2 pictures are of the huge assembly hangers with huge murals on the doors.
